About the Owner
It was the true love of creativity that launched Hoogland’s Wood Shop. Founder and owner, Chuck Hoogland, built
his first piece of furniture at the age of 14. Chuck was building log night stands when his classmates were building bird
houses. He got away from building log furniture for awhile, but in the early 1990’s, after building a few pieces for friends,
his interest for furniture making was rekindled.
Chuck continued to create various pieces and in 2000 he began making log beds out of his garage. Word quickly
spread about the quality products Chuck was producing and soon he needed a larger work space. That’s when
Hoogland’s Wood Shop was established on Hwy U.S.2 in Crystal Falls, MI. The business has since expanded and the
shop moved to 4063 Hwy. US 2, Florence, WI.
Even though the economy has been difficult to survive in over the last few years we are still here and plan on being here
for a long time.
